Great game Simple, but addicting.

Well, it's a demo and not a game, so I did not rate it as well as I would if I could play until some end.
The game engine is a standard RPG battle engine, but with smooth movements and dynamic backgrounds.
The graphics are very good. There are moving animations and graffity that offers some distraction during long FF-Style battles. You do not use many colors. That's good in this case, because it emphasizes the depressive and hopeless situation!
I cannot judge the sound, I had to turn it off.
The game runs smooth until you die. Then you lay on the ground and can neither continue nor restart.
The intro looks good, but the animation tells no story. You have about one minute attention to explain a gamer the story, and you show some impressive, but contentless animations.
The major flaw is the missing story:
*anonymous female* is gone. I will revenge *insert relative*. Blood!!!
You have some crucial items that could be used for a success: Loss of a person close to you, pain, survival. But you tell the story without emotion! Why was the person so special, why did they kill your sister, how? What's the reason of fighting if everything is already lost? Against who are you fighting? Why is this revenge something special, and not only a family tragedy?
One more flaw is the standard FF Fight: Choose between hit, hit harder, hit hardest, or do something you don't understand. Why not design a new combat system, or at least new movements, strategies and upgrades?
And the fight takes too long. It would already help if there was a hint on how many health your opponent has left.
You are on the right way, the game looks as if it would become a blockbuster. But you should not underestimate the storyline: People play games to become entertained.

I don't care if this is photoshopped and the bodies are over eighteen. Even if it was a hand-drawn flash animation, I would blow the whistle because it is child porn. I'm sure you didn't ment to cause harm, but movies like this trigger child abusers. It downplays the severity of child abuse and encourages those who mentally desire child abuse, but are hold off by social rejection.
If a person was already exposed to abuse during childhood, this flash could trigger suppressive felling which lead to depression, auto-aggression or even suicide.
Flashes like this one harm real-live people. I'm a computer scientist, but this is the point where I would ban the whole computer entertainment sector.
Why do you create these offensive, inappropriate content? You could use your skills for enjoying people or earn money (and I think someone who creates flashes could make much money!!!).
Sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native speaker. I just wanted to say that such flashes have to be detested. Jokes about grave suffering can cause the suffering itself or hurt people who witnessed it. If you have honour, remove your submission before the staff does.

Really, this is one of the best games on Newgrounds!!! I like the diablo II-style skill system and the diverting just-kill storyline. It describes the classic RPG games from the other side.Thanks to advancing skills, boss dialogs, and changing enemies, the game does not become boring although the mission and level design is repetitive. A perfect game for after work.
The dialogs are funny and the storyline is flat, but entertaining. Although it is a classic diablo-style slash&slay RPG, the changed role gave it a twist. Although it connects many simple ideas, it is elaborated in many details: The movement is very smooth and lag-free, it has many special moves without confusing the player, the sound fits the atmosphere, and the interface is very intuitive.
Although the game is great, you should add more instructions, especially on the main menu. It took me some time to find out that there is more than one save game slot.
I don't like the shop. Like many said before, it looks commercial, but only on first sight. I disagree with the previous comments, because I think it is alright for a developer to ask for some pocket money: Developing such a game takes time AND money (these guys have to fill a fridge during cold programming nights!!!). Consider how long you play this game and how much you would pay for a cinema ticket.
It is possible to beat the game even without spending money, so the developers are more fair than those of other games (see SAS2) and you eventually get all of the items for free.
The part I don't like is that you earn so much special stuff and have to throw it away. Why not implement a shop for the common people who earn pennies by selling special items, and some elite items which are only available for tons of pennies or a small amout of paid premium coins?

I really like the animations and the story is funny (as far as I understood it). I think you sped up the voices to get a higher pitch. That's a good idea, the flies sound like in television cartoons.
Sometimes it was hard to understand the flies because they talked too fast. I think you could balance the speed and pitch by speaking extreamly slowly before speeding up. But maybe I only have problems because I'm not a native speaker.

You should mention that this is a remake of a well known game, otherwise it looks as if you were trying to steal it.

Text adventures are alright- depending on lyric skills, they range from crap to awesome. It is more work to consider an addicting story than to draw pictures!
I still didn't like the game because the questions were too random. It reminded too much of "impossible quiz": Guess an answer in a multiple choice test and if it is wrong, start again...
I would like it better if the wrong answer gave hints and not kill me at once! Answering the same questions again and again is sooooo boring.

Something's wrong... I have a 3X4 grid. There ae 4 solutions, but none of them give me a green background. And there is no "Stepper".
